Abstract/electro hip hop is here again, after HOW DO YOU SLEEP ? (2002), here comes AUDIOACTIVISM , new original compilation by label Jarring Effects. AUDIO because it gathers various renowned artists exploring the dark side of electronic music. ACTIVISM because this opus is meant to be a tool designed to allow the emission of all the jarring and dissonant voices. This theme denounces the standardization of cultures caused, for some part, by the omnipresence and huge influence of the mass medias. To illustrate this topic, we suggested every artist an internationally known sampled sentence: « the revolution will not be televised », by GIL SCOTT HERON . Result ? 12 original tracks, where every one gives their written and sonic version of the sample.
