For ten years Bosnia-Herzegovina has been forsaken by Europe to the hands of nationalists. The time has come to write a new page of our history without forgetting the darkest ones of the past. For five years, Drugi Most, "the other bridge towards Bosnia Herzegovina", has been contributing to organize the Festival Interculturel of Mostar. Mostar is a symbolic town, split in two during the war and confronted to violence of rare intensity. Today it represents one of the last urban and anachronous ghettos of "ethnic" segregation in Europe. This festival is first of all the result of collective work on a European scale. It was organized by a federation of 9 partners : COFIM, Comity for the Organisation of Festival Interculturel of Mostar. This federation gathers Skart, Alternativni Institut, Mladi Most, l'Ateneu, Pavarotti Music Center of Mostar, Zasto Ne of Sarajevo, RAI of Barcelone, Guernica ADPE of Toulouse and Drugi Most of Grenoble as well as many people committed to this project here and there. This festival has both a socio-cultural action and a political aim : - coming back to every day life without fear or hate, previous to reconciliation and reunification - an action for cultural opening up in a Bosnia-Herzegovina still divided by community and nationalist criteria. Discover the other, cultural exchanges, free expressions : these are the main purposes of this festival unlike any other, mixing different artistic disciplines (concert, sound system, cinema, conferences, meetings, exhibitions, street theatre, drama, happenings...) this compilation is the fruit of an encounter between label Jarring Effects and Drugi Most. It is the result of a cooperation based on multiples competences, between musicians from an alternative scene, citizen movements and international associations. This compilation aims at supporting both politically and financially the projects set up by the Comité d'Organisation du Festival Interculturel de Mostar. It stands in the line of alternative ethics meant to create European networks for cultural, citizenship and interdependent actions. Because a new world is possible. We thank all the artists who have worked hard on this compilation, COFIM, Franck, Alex Radio Bomb, Lionel Bonaventure and all toses who contributed directly or indirectly to the actions and projects of our associations.
