The outcome is “La métamorphose de Caspar Dix”, a concept album that mixes the French language and Anglo-Saxon pop music à la Gainsbourg, reminiscent of Bowie’s fancy songwriting with chiseled orchestrations, along with the Pixies’ rock fervour and Air’s electronica approach : the ideal balance between relevant experimentations and classical pop refrains.
The album thread is based on the diary of Caspar Dix, discovered by Ribot on Bahia Bianca Island :
“ December, 29th 2082: Saragossa. Birth of Bianca and Luna Johannsson, Siamese sisters.
Until 2090, the Siamese sisters led the high life protected in the huge garden of the Saragossa house.
2090: surgery by mysterious Doctor Oka to separate the two sisters. The operation fails. Luna dies.
May, 19th 2098: Bianca Johannsson is in an accident on the road to Barcelona. Doctor Oka finds her, unconscious. She wakes up on Bahia Blanca Island.
September, 21th 2098: Caspar Dix and Bianca are transformed as a little girl...
